Polish acrylic after cutting acrylic
Acrylic, also known as PMMA or plexiglass, is widely used in advertising, interior decoration, and crafts. Its surfaces are smooth and mirror-like, resistant to breakage, and lighter than ordinary glass. After CNC cutting, acrylic surfaces can be polished to achieve a bright, smooth finish using specialized equipment and techniques.
Tools/Materials Needed:
- Mint Acrylic Diamond Polishing Machine
- Polishing wax and cloth wheel polishing machine
Steps to polish freshly cut acrylic:
- Protect the Surface: Wrap the freshly cut acrylic surface with protective film to prevent scratches. Even minor scratches can affect the final gloss.
- Batch Polishing with Acrylic Diamond Polishing Machine: Stack acrylic sheets of the same size on the positioning plate of the acrylic polishing machine. Lower the pressing cylinder to secure the stack, then press the “Auto Run” button on the touch screen. After polishing, the sheets will have a smooth, glossy surface.
- Remove Fine Tool Marks: For faint tool marks visible under light, use a cloth wheel polishing machine. Apply polishing wax to the wheel, lightly touch the acrylic surface, and slowly move it across. The fine, regular marks left by the diamond polishing machine will be completely removed with minimal effort.
- Final Check and Assembly: After polishing, acrylic sheets are ready for assembly or use, exhibiting a high-quality, glossy finish.
Using a professional acrylic polishing machine ensures consistent results, reduces manual labor, and achieves a mirror-like finish suitable for high-end applications.
